5 years ago, I started working as a designer. I wanted to have an impact in the world, where everyday people loved using the products I designed. So I was naturally drawn to big tech companies. The problem was they wouldn’t hire me.
Startups had a lower barrier of entry, so that's where I worked in the start of my career. After 3 years, I got hired at H&M which was a great level up. Although I was now working at a company creating products that everyday people love, it was still not enough for me. At some point, I wanted to work at a top tier company. After 2 years, I started to aim for my next goal - one of the Big Tech companies.
Applying for jobs is a work in itself. Doing my regular full time job while preparing for interviews over 3 months was very stressful. So much of my time and energy went to searching the web and piecing together bits of advice, trying to book calls on short notice with mentors on ADPList. I remember evenings in front of my laptop prepping while regretting I even started the whole process!
In the end, it all worked out. I got an offer from Meta. But, in a turn of events, I turned down Meta to join Klarna, Europe’s fintech unicorn, because I would have more impact on the company in the team I was offered.
Although I succeeded with my goal, I knew that prepping for big tech could be a lot easier. This course is what I wish I had. It gives you a shortcut so that you can spend less time, be less stressed and feel more confident when applying to Big Tech companies.
